Dear Choir,
I hope that you have been basking in the glow that comes of well-deserved praise, and the satisfaction of a job well done! I wish to add my congratulations. Rarely have I led such a beautifully focused, disciplined, self-motivated, and effective group of singers! Words fail me in describing my joy in your success, my admiration of you and your efforts, and my gratitude for having been able to share this experience with you.
To tell the truth, it has taken me some time to process this experience. Having returned to the web-cast,and listened now several times to your singing, all I can say is that every hearing confirms my initial reaction: Your singing was transcendent, stunningly beautiful, and deeply moving! Like you (I’m sure), I
have heard from many friends and colleagues who were a) thrilled and moved by your performance, and b) amazed to hear such fine singing coming from such “regular Army” singers. :)I will share with you my two favorite reviews – one from a former college professor, the other from Sister Huff.
My professor wrote: I am not easily moved by choral music but your group's rendition of "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" brought me completely to tears… Please accept my congratulations and sincere thanks.
Sister Huff simply said, “WOW! The filter was spotless”! My mother, who hasn’t set foot in church for nearly 30 years, attended Conference with us, and was nearly overwhelmed by what she felt and heard there. For this act of service alone, I offer my heartfelt thanks!
Your efforts to prepare in every possible way – musically, physically, and spiritually – paid off so handsomely! You were focused, confident, radiant, glorious! Rarely have I led such a responsive group of singers. And rarely has the effect of the singing been so powerfully and immediately felt! Again, I thank each of you so very, very much for allowing me to have such an experience with you, with music, and with the Holy Spirit!
Please know of my sincere and profound gratitude to each of you for the greatness of your souls, and for your diligent work in carrying out this assignment together. My fondest wishes for your abiding joy in life and in God’s Kingdom are continually yours. May you always have occasion to bear witness in all possible ways your testimony of Christ, of God’s love for us, and the blessings of the Restored Gospel.May your lives be filled with all that is good – Love, Truth, Service, Integrity, Joy, and Song!
He lives, and knows my fears. He lives, and shares my tears. I know that my Redeemer lives! And I know that you do, too!
With love and fondness, I remain
Sincerely yours,
Michael D. Huff
